There is an Englishman and three Irishmen in a climbing party. Whilst climbing up the mountain, they all slip, and are hanging over a crevasse. They soon realise that their rope will not take the weight of all four of them, and so one of them will have to do the decent thing. The Englishman says, "Well, Ireland has had some beastly things done to it by England, like the potato famine and so on. I'll jump" The Irish applauded him.
